| Hey guys just wanted your thoughts on the system I am purchasing soon. Price wise and warrenty wise I was actually very happy with so I can honestly say I am not dissapointed in that department. It will be used for college but also of course for gaming. Just wanted to get an idea on how decent the system is before I actually put the money on the table. The bulk of the system is Windows XP, Pentium IV 3.0 GHz HT, 1 Gig DDR2 SDRAM, 80 GB hard drive since I dont really download music or use video stuff at all, 128 MB PCI Express x16 ATI's Radeon x300 and then the usual other programs. Id appreciate some thoughts just overall. I know over time I will upgrade the graphics card but I wanted to try and get a solid system overall for right now at a good price and I think I did that. Basically I want to play on the net of course but also was wondering how you guys think it will run Doom 3 and Half Life 2 when they come out. Thanks for all your help

| That should run you around $1000 depending on the quality of parts.

| Yeah, like I said above the price I was happy about. I just wanted to know if it is a good system and if it will run well with upcoming games.

| The vid card in my opinion is on the weak side (recommend more like an x500 series) but other than that it'd be a solid build for games.

| Kind of off subject, but not really also. When I first went away to college, in fall '99, I bought the best computer Dell offered at the time: 550Mhz, 128MB SDRAM, 32MB video card and a 25GB harddrive. Everyone laughed at me and my harddrive saying "You will never need or fill all those 25gigs". I find this funny now, that even the littlest computer has at least 40.
