Total: (drum roll please!)

$6,181.87

Shipping around $50. Not bad.

So those are the essentials plus a few add on cards to boost performance/quality in some games.

The reason I chose two Intel SSDs in RAID 0 is because these particular SSD's are extremely fast, the read/write speeds are rated at 250/170, and when you RAID 0 two SSDs together, the read/write speed boost are almost linear and with two drives pretty much double, unlike traditional hard drives. They also boast much lower access times, great for loading games, OS, etc. They don't make sense for media though, which is why I included two 2TB drives in RAID 1 to protect your data. 2TB should be plenty for anyone, and I would recommend making a 128GB partition just to back up the SSD's in case they crash.

With 12GB of RAM, there's plenty for all your apps and more, so I would suggest setting at least 256-512MB as a RAM drive, to place all your TEMP files to reduce the random read/writes on the SSD. The great thing about RAM drives is since RAM is volatile, all those useless TEMP files are deleted each time you reboot.
