Okay so most of you guys probably know by now that I am huge fan of SanDisk and yes I own their stock as well Smile.

I purchased my Sansa e260 about 6 months ago for the use for the gym or long boring plane flights. I also got a "free" (MIR) 1GB MicroSD card included as well for a total of 5GB (4GB on the Sansa + 1GB MicroSD) Now that is a lot of music, but not as much as you get with an iPOD, BUT with the luck i had with two Apple iPOD's I decided not to burn myself and purchased a better mp3 player.

BUT this is no regular MP3 player it also has radio, pictures, movies and of coarse music (mp3)! It is awesome at the gym with the ActionJacket for it. Absolutely wonderful and easy to use, no problems, never crashes and it takes shocks wonderfully. I havent maxed out the space yet because I rarely watch "movies" on it but I could try that but who wants to look at a tiny screen watching a movie, it would make me go insane.

If you are in the market for a new mp3 player you cant go wrong getting the SanDisk Sansa! Absolutely amazing and they come in larger sizes as well so don't think you are limited to just 4GB

If people would shop around, the iPod is not the best MP3 player out there, the only real upside for them is the massive market for 3rd party accessories.

I agree but there is a lot of cool software plugins for the Sansa that allows you to do pretty much anything and everything but I agree they need more cool accessories for the Sansa!

I'm hitting similar issues with my Creative Zen, but it was a ton less and has better sound processing than the ipods of its day, so it made sense for quality.

It is nice I can jack it into my 360 and play its contents in game.

My bro just got an e280 not long ago, the only pain I had was teaching him to sync using WMP... bah, I hate syncing =P

So as I was saying, him having a new toy, i got his old iPod, 20gig actualharddrivenonflash wonderthing Very Happy

freeipods.com, hey it seriously works =P

I personally don't use my stuff for anything other than its intended for, and if I can hear my Incubus - Megalomaniac anytime anywhere I'm one happy freaking camper!

Hahaha the Sansa is great, I am glad that all you have to really do is drag and drop your songs into the folder and not have to worry about stupid programs like iTunes to do it which is such a pain in the butt to use.

Went looking around town today after our state tax returns went into bank and just bought my wife the Sansa e250, so far it is nice. She only got the 2Gig but that is all she really needs right now and was not an issue to her.

You wife will love the Sansa! It is one of the best mp3 players on the market right now. Cant go wrong. They have multiple positions. You can always get a MicroSD card which I got just for flying for work.

CPU just rated the sansa along with some other popular portable multimedia players (specifically looked at more than music capabilities) and they have it an OK review. They said it was a great music player, but the lack of controls for viewing pictures marked it down. Apparently no zoom or way to rotate the images with the device.

Now I have never used my Zen for anything but music, so if all you want is an MP3 player that could hold some external storage it seems like a great piece of equipment.

I just do not know the need to hold 40GB plus on music on a portable device, pointless in my opinion thus why i gave away my ipod and got something more practical.
