I set up a Filezilla FTP server for a friend but every 20 megs or so of downloading a file, it stops and then this message appears:
[01:21:50] An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine.
[01:21:50] Server closed connection
[01:21:50] Transfer failed.

I tried changing the FTP client to active (from passive) and that didn't make a difference. I opened some ports in Windows firewall on the FTP server computer, so I'm guessing that I don't need to open more because it transfers fine for a few minutes then stops.

It's always worked fine any other time I did the same setup; any ideas? Thanks.

It sounds like there is something on your system that is closing a port or closing the connection. Anything you install from the time you had a successful filezilla session until now?

This is a different computer than the one that has been working fine (ie. fresh install on a new system).

my bulletproof FTP will do the same thing, but it shows access violation with an ok box, and if nobody hits the ok box it will stay up. but if you hit ok it will close the ftp server. i dont worrie bout it to much, unless i wanna change some settings on the server.

yours kinda resembles a timeout close, how fast does it transfer before it stops, how long does it take the message to show after it stops

what version of filezilla do you got, is there a newer one?

Latest version. It goes at the 100KB/s it should be going at. It transfers some of the file, then stops and gives the message. Resume works, but it's annoying to have to keep doing that.

did you cap it at 100KB/s, do you have to hit ok for it to continue working, what type of connection do you have, im on dsl, that may be it, because sometimes i think dsl is not as connectively stable as cable or T1.....

It's not capped by me. Our college caps us at 100KB/s when uploading outside of campus (ie. the internet). It just stops and then I have to double click the file again and the "do you want to overwrite" kind of box comes up, and I just hit resume.

I tried passive and active mode on the FTP client.

i wonder if the ftp server, or client, visa versa is trying to transfer faster than 100KB/s and it causes connections lost to occur?

but also because of rolex replica uk its use of traditional glass swiss replica watches mirror, more highlight the classic shape of harmony. Power reserve display on the fake watches back of the watch, through the transparent sapphire glass bottom reading.
