This can be used if you need to know the parts that are needed to build a computer or want to describe the computer you built.

CPU
Motherboard
Heatsink/Fan (if you buy a retail CPU, it comes with one as OEM does not)
Video Card (motherboard might come with it integrated)
Sound Card (motherboard might come with it integrated)
RAM
Hard Drive
Case
A few extra fans (if your case doesn't come with them)
Power Supply
CD/DVD Drive
CD/DVD burner (optional)
Floppy (optional)
Operating System (do you have a full install disk laying around? If not, buy one)
USB 2.0 Drives (optional)
Firewire Drives (optional)
56k modem (optional)
Ethernet card (motherboard might come with it integrated)
Keyboard (optional if you already have one)
Mouse (optional if you already have one)
Speakers (optional if you already have them)
Monitor (optional if you already have one)
Router (optional, if you have more than one computer and broadband internet access)

Tool set - some assembly will be needed when you build the computer, best to have a few different sizes of screw drivers.
